RYA Safety Boat Course

About the course:​

This course requires that you have a Powerboat Level 2 and therefore have experience of boat handling and seamanship skills. The Safetyboat course provides on the water skills to rescue other boat users from the water. For example, catamarans, dinghies, kite surfers, Wind surfers, canoeists and anyone who may have fallen overboard. Particularly useful for Clubs who carry out escort duties and race management.

Syllabus includes:

• Rescue equipment/boat checks
• Man over board rescue
  
• Rescuing casualties from a number of craft
  
• Carrying out a search
• Lee shore rescues
  
• Mooring/ coming alongside/ towing
